Second part of SS12 sandals obsession. Love the YSL brown with yellow trims. This season I observe that some sandals tend to go thick-soled, with DSquared2 the most representative example.And oh I am not really a fan of suede sandals. Hard to maintain, especially in the humid weather of Singapore. The Margiela sandals come in some unusual material, which to me, looks a little like those chinese funeral stuffs. Not a fan too.

Which one do you like? The Pierre Hardy and Neil Barrett are recurrent models, with the latter come in some interesting textured material this time. I personally saw the Acne ones and I quite like it. Not forgetting the Kris Van Assche one too.

Good things repeat. Yes, one of my favorite sandals from Neil Barrett return this season with more interesting colors of dirty green and blue in bi-material look.  
My black version has the suede behind, while the new versions have them in front. TheCorner has the new SS12 ones now.

neil barrett ss11 sandals

Another fabulous loot from sales. I have been eyeing on this pair of Neil Barrett hybrid sandals for quite some time. Having it acquired is just a matter of timing. I was in Bangkok in July and saw the full black leather version at Club21 Thailand Erawan, and I still could find my size at the time! I tried on but I decided not to make my purchase then because the leather was 'biting' the back of my ankle quite badly. So I thought maybe the sandals was not really meant for me. Later I noticed this bi-material version with suede and yes, it is softer than the leather portion and not causing any pain to my ankle. I see no more excuse to not buying this pair of gorgeous sandals.

Needless to say, Zara is superb at adaptations. The so-called "fast fashion spirit" is laudable.(a compliment?) Who supercedes who?

gucci espadrilles sandals

A nice pair of "espadrilles" sandals from Gucci. I am still 'compiling' info of the most ideal pair of low cut sandals for myself after retiring my Bally gladiator sandals and Raf Simons for Dr Martens. What I look for in a pair of perfect sandals would be the comfort of wearing. Soft leather sandals are better and more gentle to the feet. This Gucci is available at Matchesfashion at GBP335.

dsquared2 ss2011 silver sandals

Black is so common and sometimes boring. How about some silver sandals for SS2011?  Raf Simons and Givenchy did metallic sandals before.  Dsquared2 online store carries these hot and striking sandals now.

kris van assche blue sandals ss2011

Having seen enough black or brown sandals, it's time for something refreshing - dark blue sandals from Kris Van Assche. Ssense is carrying at USD450. I am drooling now. Yeah I am always drooling over blue things.

neil barrett ss2011 laceup sandals

Restir carries this extremely stunning Neil Barrett lace up leather sandals. The design is unprecedented yet not exaggerated. Priced at USD670.

slipper sandals ss2011

Givenchy and Common Projects. I have mixed feelings towards such slipper-sandals. To me, they are too casual in a way, but undeniably comfortable and convenient to wear, without the wrapping straps and buckles at the ankle part. So far I have not seen people wearing such slip-and-go sandals in an acceptably presentable way. People wearing such sandals tend to be quite 'uncle' or paternal, emitting a sense of 'old-school manliness' that is not so persuasive.If you were to carry them well, make sure your apparels substantial enough to make a statement. Cheap apparels with something designers at your feet or your arms is hilarious and awkward to me.

balenciaga ss2011 sandals in black

This Baleciaga SS2011 sandals is simply elegant with shiny black leather. To me, it looks a little too common and there is no wow factor, but if you are into something not too loud, this is the one for you. GBP325 at MrPorter.

dries van noten sandals ss2011

Sandals are a pre-requsite for every spring summer, besides the noise-making  unsexy flip flops. This Dries Van Noten work is extremely magnetic to me. The suede base, the intermixed use of canvas and leather make the sandals simple yet uniquely elegant. The Corner is selling them now at EUR384, in black and white. Needless to say, the black wins all.
