aw12 givenchy high tops

Givenchy 's fall winter 2012 shoe collection features many 'star-studded' high tops, now available in most online stockists such as MrPorter and Luisaviaroma. As usual, black and white are the common tones but the grey version quite stands out. Besides those laced ones, there are the velcro ones. I myself do not really like velcro shoes, but the black one with zip is quite inspiring.

some ss12 givenchy shoes

SSENSE is carrying some interesting Givenchy shoes for this season. I have no particularly strong feeling for these except the taupe color boots. I think it has a black version too. The buckle shoes are okay and not to the extent of 'fabulous'. The black and white with the Givenchy details on the toe topside is not bad too.

givenchy aw11 urban sneakers

I am now quite careful when buying Givenchy sneakers. This is due to the variation in the cutting that somehow slipped my mind in the past, impulse driven apparently. Yes, not all Givenchy trainers come with sleek cutting. My beautiful grey  "Tom" highcut is one good example.

However, this newly released "Urban" Sneakers from SSENSE looks quite sleek due to its slimmer cutting. The use of different grey tones and material textures, even  the shoe lace in bluish grey,  does make the overall appearance interesting. Anyway, this highcut model, I believe, is recurrent. I remember seeing something as sleek too in the past few collections.

givenchy grey sneakers aw11

Something from Givenchy that is more toned down, less quirky. Like the grey tone on the brushed leather. Available now at Farfetch.com

givenchy aw11 sneakers

Canadian online store, SSENSE, has started selling some of the AW11 Givenchy sneakers. Most of the designs are considered classic and recurring, with changes in materials and colors. Not too much suprise though. My pick would be the brown suede one with lace hooks. The regrettable thing about it is the chunky body of the shoes. It is not as sleek or pointed as it seems. Only the first one in the row exhibits  the more pointed design.

searching for the ideal grey lowcut

I am still searching for a pair of ideal leather grey low-cut trainers. So many greys so many choices. From top, Givenchy, Common Projects, Maison Martin Margiela and Dolce & Gabbana. But I have a propensity for loving Dolce & Gabbana. The Givenchy in grey suede is not bad too, though I got the similar in black already. If you were me, what would you pick?

givenchy ss2011 grey velcro hightop

This is one of my favorite Givenchy designs. The velcro is cool and the padding inside the shoes is comfortable. I got one in black color. This grey version is equally irresistible...

slipper sandals ss2011

Givenchy and Common Projects. I have mixed feelings towards such slipper-sandals. To me, they are too casual in a way, but undeniably comfortable and convenient to wear, without the wrapping straps and buckles at the ankle part. So far I have not seen people wearing such slip-and-go sandals in an acceptably presentable way. People wearing such sandals tend to be quite 'uncle' or paternal, emitting a sense of 'old-school manliness' that is not so persuasive. If you were to carry them well, make sure your apparels substantial enough to make a statement. Cheap apparels with something designers at your feet or your arms is hilarious and awkward to me.

givenchy tom low black

Just arrived today, say hi to my new Givenchy Tom Low. This is from AW2010 collection and I was lucky enough to get the final pair in my size in the final sales. One of my favorite bloggers, MJCEDO, got his too some time back.

I think I lately have acquired quite a few black shoes. I need to stop getting black shoes now.

givenchy ss2011 corked sole

Givenchy surprises me with virtuosity in using materials that do not seem to fit together but the eventual integration gives stunning overall look. This SS2011 lace up stands out undoubtedly with such undaunted experimentation. This shoes definitely got my utmost love.

givenchy leopard print ss2011

One of the offerings from Givenchy SS2011 shoes. I wonder why it's not from AW2010. Loud, bold and attention seeking. Now available at Luisaviaroma. Should I even consider it?

surrender to infatuation

I first saw this featured in one of my favourite HK online fashion sites,  called BeeWeb (used to be named as bee monday) and immediately I fell in love with it. I like what Riccardo manipulates geometry and shapes.

That was in September, and before that, I remember I saw the same shoes carried by a few online stockists, but in different materials and colors.

When I was on a work trip to HK in September, I deliberately and desperately rushed to Joyce to see the real item and it was all sold out to my surprise!

The local Givenchy store, the one and only in Singapore, is carrying this model as well, but in shiny suede grey black while the white one only in low cut version. I think the grey black version is even more stunning than the whole white or black version (so far I have seen 3 different colors of this model) ! However, as you may have realised that Givenchy stuffs in Singapore are never cheap, although the range of merchandise is quite commendable. The price of this pair of shoes indeed dampened my spirit. I always tell myself that there are always some shoes for me to own in every season, so it is really not a big deal to just lose this one. I tried the resistance, but unfortunately towards the end I still surrendered...

givenchy is my new love

Yes, I am lately quite infatuated by Givenchy stuffs. I could see myself gradually amassing them. This limited edition piece was purchased last week after the sales assistant from the one and only Givenchy store in Singapore rang me up. There are more designs but some are indeed too loud for me to carry.
