ss12 pierre balmain

When I first saw Pierre Balmain sneakers this season, I was quite disappointed because they are a little over-designed in my opinion. The multi-straps and the crisscross lace look very unnatural to me. Perhaps these details are the signature of PB that would or might represent the classic essence of the design. Anyway, at last there is something that caught my attention, the midnight blue buckle sneakers which just arrive at SSENSE. I have to agree that it is not so much of the Pierre Balmain spirit embodied but I think it is highly wearable. I just hope it is not made in China for its pricing.

  1. So disappointed with the "Pierre Balmain" range of sneakers, shoes, boots. They are indeed made in China! I emailed SSENSE for confirmation after I saw the "Made in china" label in one of the shoe pics at the SSENSE website. Sure enough, it was confirmed, Pierre Balmain diffusion footwear is all made in China. Sad and shocking for the price!

    1. hi adam.
it is no surprise nowadays that sneakers/trainers from many renowned designers are made in china (mostly only the 'dress shoe line' is usually made in italy ). on the other hand we should be biased against things made in china. if the prices vs quality is still reasonable then i think it is still acceptable.
