x'mas at orchard road

X'mas always makes Singapore's busiest shopping district, Orchard Road, extremely vibrant with colors, lights and people. Usually, during this period of the year, sales are on-going everywhere. I am not a fan of crowd and traffic. I usually will avoid December weekends. I am also reluctant to go in to have a peep into those branded boutiques, as usually I would end up leaving with empty hands. In a local dialect, there is a term called "Pasar Malam", meaning "night market". You would see these elegant, classy boutiques transfigured into "Pasar Malam" with mess and rummage. I suppose such phenomenon is not exclusive to Singapore, right?
